Loaves and Fishes

We didn't know if we should host one this year.

These 5-Day Clubs offered by Child Evangelism Fellowship are good, but with us being out of town, not having enough time to invite people, not sure the children in our area would be able to come or even be interested, we thought maybe not this year.

But then, the last minute, four days before Club would start, I dove in and committed.

We didn't get most invites out until Sunday afternoon.

But God worked and they came.  Twelve to thirteen boys.  Hearing and learning of the One True God.

Brian and I just sat back Friday after it was all over and said "Wow."

Only God could have made this week such a powerful one.  Only God could have wet those boys' appetites so much they couldn't wait to come back the next day.

Yet it's only one week out of their lives.  And only a couple hours of that week.

So I pray.  With a picture of Jesus in  my mind...the disciples coming to Him after He gives them the task of feeding five thousand people out in the countryside.

"Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?"

Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted.  He did the same with the fish.

It's just a bit of time.  Yet He was able to bring those boys.  And two thousand years ago He was able to feed over 5000 people with just five small loaves and two little fish.

Can't He also multiply this time in their hearts so that they will be changed into His likeness for all eternity?

Oh me, of little faith, He can and I must trust, wait, and pray.....
